A Brighton resident started a petition for improvements at Pool Valley coach station due to safety concerns and missing amenities.

Pool Valley lacks many things, including a waiting room and good lighting. Toilets and a café are also missing there. Steer thinks it feels unsafe at night due to this.
She calls it a disgrace because of these issues. Her relatives are visiting from America soon, and she thinks they will be shocked by it. She often uses the station early.
She also said there isn’t any shelter available. National Express parks at Old Steine at night because it’s too dangerous at the coach station then, as it is just completely empty.
Steer now takes the train instead sometimes, as she often travels home late from trips. 154 people have signed her petition at this time, and she plans to give it to the council.
The council is responsible for Pool Valley, as it is classed as a public highway. Trevor Muten is on the council and is in charge of transport, parking, and public areas.
Muten said the council wants to improve it. The Council sees Pool Valley as important and thinks it has lots of potential for everyone.
It’s near the pier and the seafront now. It will also get better with the Old Steine project. They will work with operators and the community to ensure good results for all.
