Philly’s York brings an authentic Philly Cheesesteak food stall to Spark, York, until March 16th. It is rivaling the home of the cheesesteak.

Matt Cardy is a self-taught chef who lived in the US for four years. He traveled the country on a food trip to create a perfect cheesesteak recipe. He uses mostly local ingredients and wanted to rival those in Philadelphia.
Matt kept returning to cheesesteaks because he could not find good ones in the UK, which only existed in big cities. He spoke to an American couple at Spark who saw his sandwich on Instagram.
The couple usually bought cheesesteak kits. They said Matt’s was one of the best they ate, which was an awesome compliment for him.
Matt talked with Jack from Baby Boys Burgers in June last year. Then, Matt brought his pop-up to York; now his kiosk is midway through its third span at Spark.
Philly’s York is open until March 16, midday until 9pm, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Matt hopes to find a permanent home for his cooking.
