A student saved his dog from an attack on June 5. The event happened in an alley off Brook Street. He was quite brave.

The dog, a Labrador, survived the ordeal. Sadly, the student got over a dozen bites, and his dog’s neck suffered a bad wound.

Callum Clements, age 26, faced the court. On March 6, he received a suspended sentence of 24 weeks, suspended for 18 months. Callum lived on Mulgrave Road in Woolwich.

Additionally, Clements had to pay £500 in compensation. The court sat at Willesden Magistrates’.

The court decided Nina, the Pit Bull, must be destroyed. Kulvinder Gill presented the case in court. She called it a horrific incident, stating that the attack occurred near the man’s home.

The student was going to college that day when his sister called him to the alley. Gill stated to the court that his sister said a Pit Bull seemed aggressive and appeared suddenly in the alleyway.

The Pit Bull, Nina, then attacked Sasha, their dog. Nina bit Sasha’s neck and shook her. The court heard all the painful details.

The student said Nina was foaming at the mouth. He tried to kick Nina to stop her attack and used his hand to protect Sasha’s neck. He felt Nina was trying to kill Sasha; he stated this in court.

Finally, someone from Clements’ home appeared and used a rope to restrain Nina. The attack lasted several long minutes.

Clements admitted he owned a fighting dog and that his dog injured someone in the alley. He stated to Willesden Magistrates’ Court that he didn’t know Nina was a banned Pit Bull. He expressed deep regret for what occurred and said the whole event greatly upset him.
