The fire started on Valentine’s Day. It seems a pizza oven was the cause. Burning wood fell, which started the fire. It then spread between floors.
This upscale hotel used to be a fire station. They even had a big party planned. It was supposed to be after the BAFTA Film Awards.
The fire moved through the building’s ducts. It damaged multiple floors, including half of the second floor. The third floor and roof got destroyed.
Firefighters worked really hard to put it out. The building had historic value. They managed to stop it from spreading nearby.
About a hundred people had to leave. Luckily, no one got hurt at all. It started before 3 PM, and many firefighters tackled it.
