Application seeks to transform a vacant restaurant on Estcourt Road into a one-bedroom flat, with interior changes only.

A restaurant used to be there called RR Indian & Sri Lankan Taste. They have moved now to a new location on Rhodes Moorhouse Way in Old Sarum.
The building is four stories tall and part of a row of buildings. The restaurant space is now empty, but the application doesn’t mention when it closed down.
An inspector visited in July 2024, and the health officer checked the restaurant giving it a low food hygiene score. The score was one, needing big improvements.
The plan is to change the vacant shop into a residential flat. The project includes inside changes, but it doesn’t affect the building’s outside look.
The building still sits at 41 Estcourt Road. The four-story structure has a ground floor retail spot, with three residential flats above it, each with a separate entrance.
Wiltshire Council approved a similar plan before in 2021. Mr. Thiruchelvam wanted to change the shop then, too, but that old permission expired in May 2024.
