Police seek a witness after a man in his 70s from St Annes died following a collision. Driver is not in trouble.

Officers think a car drove around the man earlier while he was already in the road. Police want to speak to that driver only as a witness. This would help their investigation a lot.
The injured man was probably in his 70s and from St Annes. He had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Sadly, he died there, but they haven’t formally identified him yet. Police are finding his family.
On February 13th, police arrested a man in his 70s and from Blackpool. He was a suspect in the case, possibly causing death by dangerous driving and fleeing the scene. He’s now released pending investigation.
Earlier, police arrested a 43-year-old man also suspected of dangerous driving. Now, police have released him, and they won’t take further action.
Detective Sergeant Joseph Ghigi really wants to talk as he believes the driver could be a key witness. Ghigi stresses the driver is only a witness not in any trouble, but it’s still important that they speak.
Come forward if this is you, or if you know the driver, encourage them. Do the right thing, he adds. You can call 101 and quote log 1141 of February 10th, or email SCIU@lancashire.police.uk.
