A large fire at a Margate car garage is under investigation. Eight fire engines attended Alexandra Road.

Firefighters used jets to put out the fire, and the road closed in both directions between Ramsgate Road and Helena Avenue. Smoke went into the air and over houses. The garage front had serious damage and partially collapsed, as it is next to an MOT center.
Police helped close the road after a fire report at 5:10 am. They, along with the fire service, want to find the fire’s cause and are both investigating.
Initially, people had to stay away from Alexandra Road. Later, the fire was out, so crews left the place. They used a new robot to help, which records video, checks heat, can talk to people, and even helps remove people.
This robot fights fire with water, spraying 2,000 liters per minute, and people control it from 600 meters away. Nobody got hurt in this fire, but the cause remains unknown.
