Emergency services responded to a crash near Newton Aycliffe on the A167, sending one person to the hospital.

Emergency services responded to the crash. Police and ambulances arrived at the scene, along with the Great North Air Ambulance who came by road vehicle. The road reopened around 10:00 AM that morning, and police continue investigating the incident.

Five people sustained injuries in the accident. One person was transported to James Cook Hospital, as confirmed by the North East Ambulance Service.
The NEAS stated four others received treatment at the crash location and then released. Durham Constabulary has not released a statement.
The North East Ambulance Service gave details, reporting they received a call at 3:07 AM about a road traffic incident. They sent two ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic, and a clinical team leader, with support from the Great North Air Ambulance.
The ambulance service treated and discharged four people at the scene. Another person went to James Cook Hospital for additional medical care. Durham Constabulary got a message for a statement but has not yet responded to the request.
