Investigation launched after a man dies in London following police restraint on Borough High Street. Witnesses needed.

The incident occurred after midnight on January 25 when police responded to a disturbance report around 12:55 am near Borough Market. Officers found Adam Tidman, 34, restrained by security at Belushi’s restaurant initially, and police continued restraining him outside.
Mr. Tidman became unwell during the restraint, and paramedics took him to the hospital. Sadly, he died on February 11.
The IOPC wants to understand what happened fully, and Director Amanda Rowe shared her thoughts with the family. Many people may have seen the restraint, and the IOPC urges witnesses to contact investigators.
Witness accounts will help establish the circumstances of his death. The Met police reported the incident to the IOPC on January 25. The watchdog collected bodycam footage, CCTV, and officer accounts. Officers are currently considered witnesses, and an inquest will happen later.
