BCP Council denies rumors, stating no asylum hotels exist in Poole. The Home Office manages asylum housing.

The BCP Council clarified the rumors. They said no one lives there now. Kieron Wilson spoke about housing, stating Poole has no asylum hotels. The Home Office handles those places and they aren’t looking at Poole right now.
He warned about social media rumors. A Facebook group spread false info. It said the hotel would house migrants. Only 200 people followed it, and the group has disappeared since then.
The government must tell the council first if they house asylum seekers there. The council stays in touch with the Home Office. They want the latest information about refugees.
The hotel closed last March after much talk about its problems. A developer planned to rebuild it a while back. They wanted to replace it with new buildings that included a hotel, flats, and stores.
But the developers went out of business. The building seems empty now, and the company owes a lot of money.
