Caroline’s dog, Sandy, died on January 25. Medivets at North Road in Poole cared for Sandy. Caroline wanted Sandy individually cremated and wanted to bring Sandy’s ashes home.

She waited longer than expected. Caroline then called the vet and asked about the delay. They said Sandy was communally cremated, and her ashes were scattered.

Caroline was very upset by this news. Sandy came from Spain, and Caroline cared for her for ten years. She said her dogs were her “everything.”

Sandy was a special dog; she was beautiful and caring. Caroline feels she has no closure, and her other dog, Charlie, still looks for Sandy.

The Daily Echo asked Medivet for a comment. They said they would not comment, citing client confidentiality.

Caroline was told it was an “admin error.” She said a formal investigation is happening. The vet sent flowers, and she threw them away.

Caroline wants to know what happened and how it happened. She wants assurance it won’t happen again. Losing Sandy was hard, but now there’s no closure, she can’t bring Sandy home, and she finds this unbearable.
