Okay, so ABC Planning approved new houses in Portadown. They will build 36 homes near Dungannon Road and The Spires. There will be eight detached and twenty-eight semi-detached houses.

The plan includes garages and landscaping too. They also plan car parking plus other site work. P.S. Design submitted the plan for Arona Development Ltd.

Each home will feature front and back lawns, and a large public space sits centrally. It’s about 2,045 square meters in size. This area will keep a big, old tree. New trees and shrubs will also get planted. Existing trees along the site borders stay put.

The plan protects that big central tree. They will keep it safe during building, and a maintenance plan will ensure proper care. This covers all the landscaping, old and new.

A stream runs through the land. They will keep it mostly as is. A small section got diverted before for site access. The planners like the housing density because of nearby homes, and the houses will look similar to others there.

The open space is 12.7 percent of the whole area. Drumcree Church is far enough away, so this means the new houses won’t hurt its view.

Each house gets lots of private space. It ranges from 77 to 307 square meters. Guidelines only need 70 square meters. The public space exceeds requirements. It is a single, central area, which fits the rules. They are planting more around the edges. This planting will help the homes blend in, and planners think the whole project looks good.
