Hey, there’s news about that fountain in Bury St Edmunds. Remember the splash fountain planned for Moreton Hall? Well, the project was stuck for a while.

The Moreton Hall Residents’ Association stepped up. They are now in charge of moving things forward. They met with council folks about the fountain idea. It’s meant for kids, near Airfield Road.

Problems arose with a drain, delaying things last summer. The project’s cost also became a concern. Andy McGowan is helping lead the resident efforts, and he wants to revive the whole splash pad concept.

A group will check the project’s scope and worth. They are looking for answers to all the questions. The group also wants residents to help and join their working group.

A council member, Birgitte Mager, is happy. She thinks everyone now agrees on the plan and hopes it can move ahead quickly. Companies generously gave money to help. Mager thinks the association taking over is great.

Another council member, Donna Higgins, said the meeting went well and welcomes the resident association’s leadership. The councils plan to work with them. The town already pledged money for upkeep, promising up to £10,000 each year.
