A London man, Edward Ampeh, jailed for eight years for violently robbing two women. Video shows him stalking and attacking victims.

Edward Ampeh, 33, robbed two women in London, attacking them one month apart. Police released the video to the public.
The video shows Ampeh trailing one victim from the train platform. He is now in jail for eight years after being found guilty of robbery twice by the court.
Police say Ampeh acted like a predator, leaving lasting scars with his violence. An officer stated that he did it for personal gain.
One attack involved hitting a woman on the head near the platform stairs, then robbing her of her items.
The video displays the woman walking as the train drove away from the station. The man with a backpack followed, with his hood up.
Ampeh stayed close behind the woman as she quickly walked down some stairs moments before the struggle.
The first attack occurred after midnight on May 6, 2022. Ampeh verbally abused his victim, swearing and threatening her, and forced her toward the platform edge, the court learned.
She turned away from him at that point, and he struck her quickly from behind, before continuing to follow her.
Next, he demanded her bag’s contents, and she gave him a charger and money. Ampeh then asked where she lived, and wanted her phone number and Instagram as well.
Around a month later, on June 5, 2022, a second attack happened. Ampeh grabbed a woman’s purse strap, and she screamed, struggling with him. She fell down the Limehouse station stairs, twisting her leg in the process. Ampeh searched through her bag fast, then left it outside the station.
He showed “no remorse” afterward and denied involvement in the violence, fighting these accusations in court.
Detective Constable Tom Bolton stated he was pleased, noting that the violent acts against lone women were harmful and their trauma can last long. He stated that hopefully, the verdict will bring some relief.
Police say violence on trains is not okay and they will prosecute those who target others brutally. Report railway crimes by texting 61016 and call 999 for emergencies.
The British Transport Police released this video and warn that abuse won’t be tolerated, and they will prosecute railway robbers.
Ampeh got eight years in prison from the court in a sentence that arrived on February 7, 2024.
