Princess Royal Appointed President of the Devon County Show

The Devon County Agricultural Association has a new president. Princess Royal will take the role in 2025. They announced this news last month at their yearly members’ meeting. The DCAA runs the Devon County Show, and they are happy she agreed to be president. She cares about food, farming, and rural areas.

The Princess Royal replaces Michael Caines MBE DL, a famous chef with a Michelin star. Roger Ellis will support her as Deputy President. He is a fourth-generation farmer who took over his family farm at 18 after his father passed away.

The Devon County Show helped Roger early on, providing a break from farm work. He faced many responsibilities then, and he’s been involved for sixty whole years. Lately, he led the Horse section. This fits well with her interests, as she likes horses and agriculture a lot.

Roger mentioned he is honored as Deputy President and wants to support the Princess Royal. They share a love for horses and both value rural life deeply. Roger and his wife Mary celebrate 60 years married in 2025, making it a big year for them.
