Concerns arise over a proposed 20-meter 5G mast in Pudsey, deemed “intrusive” by Councillor Andrew Carter due to proximity to homes.

Cornerstone wants to put it at Peckover Drive and Bradford Road, near a Morrisons and a restaurant. The 5G mast includes antennas and other equipment, which they’d put on the pavement.
Cornerstone consulted councillors about the plan. Andrew Carter, a councillor, wasn’t pleased, thinking it’s too close to houses and visually intrusive. He wants them to find a better spot.
Cornerstone says they searched the area well and their report states that the site isn’t visible from homes. They feel it’s the best spot available, though the search area was limited, they stated.
They need to upgrade a mast at Sunnybank Lane and Bradford Road. Cornerstone reported that a second pole will help Vodafone’s 4G and 5G coverage.
Leeds City Council is now reviewing Cornerstone’s request and will decide if the project can move forward. The council will communicate their decision later.
