Head teacher warns of a dangerous junction near three Dover schools, urging safer student pickup locations.

Daniel Quinn wrote a letter. He runs Dover Grammar School for Girls and wants parents to use a different pickup spot. Three schools are near this dangerous spot.
Charlton Primary and St Edmund’s are also affected. The road is Old Charlton Road and Connaught Road, which connect near Barton Road. Cars block the pavement.
Quinn wants parents to use a supermarket parking lot because it is a safe distance away. School ends are risky times for the kids, as traffic gets very heavy then.
Quinn contacted Kent County Council and told them about the problem. Dover Grammar and Charlton Primary are on Barton Road, a one-way road, while Old Charlton Road goes uphill.
Charlton School hasn’t had any accidents. Still, they teach the kids about being safe and stay watchful about dangers of the main road.
Dover District Council knows people worry. They try hard to enforce parking rules and monitor the Old Charlton Road area. Obstructing traffic is a police matter.
