Darlington Quakers Running Club participated in and volunteered at the weekly Parkrun event in South Park.

The Darlington Quakers Running Club participated. They braved the cold for the 5k Parkrun. Three laps around the park made up the course.
The Quakers Club often brings many runners. Club members volunteered as pacers. Rob Gillham leads the Quakers Running Club. He said the takeover happens yearly and participation usually increases because of it.
Gillham mentioned their 30th anniversary this year. They planned a ball in May to celebrate. He enjoyed seeing many club members there that day. People ran a 5k on a Saturday morning.
Jo Neesam and Carmelita Coco are Quakers members. They believe the run builds strong community. Carmelita said you meet new people there, and it feels like a family.
Carmelita said it is never too late to join. Parkrun is good for your mind and body. It helps you connect with others. Jo said each Parkrun offers unique scenery. You can run on beaches and in forests. She encourages people to join, and parkruns even happen on holidays.
