Queen Camilla visited the Asian Women’s Resource Centre honoring its 45 years supporting vulnerable women facing abuse.

The AWRC has aided women in London since the late 1970s. They give practical help and emotional support to them. These services include advocacy and advice on many things, such as securing safe housing. They also assist with interpreters, legal advice, and counselling.
During her visit, the Queen met with AWRC staff, volunteers, and survivors. She listened to their stories and opened the AWRC’s new healing garden. This garden offers a peaceful space for women and children the charity supports.
The garden gives a safe space for healing, where women can rebuild after facing domestic abuse. Sarbjit Ganger, director of the Asian Women’s Resource Centre, called the Queen’s visit a momentous occasion. It recognized challenges BME women face, and the Queen’s empathy strongly matches AWRC’s goals. The charity greatly appreciates her support.
The AWRC is proud of its impact over the past 45 years, but their work is not over yet. They want to stop the cycle of domestic abuse because each woman deserves a life without fear and violence. They urgently need donations and more awareness to help AWRC provide important support.
