Alma Cox wins Star of the Year award at Reading Buses Night with the Stars event held at Hilton Hotel on February 24th.

Alma earned her Driving Star award initially. People noted her customer skills, friendliness, and smile. Her hard work for 25 years won her the top prize. She beat the Engineering and Support Star winners. David Sheppard hosted the event. The event honored several achievements by employees.
These included Star of the Month wins and retirements. Celebrations also included long service and new qualifications. Some employees gained national recognition. Others helped their charity raise money.
Robert Williams spoke at the celebration. He said they had a fantastic evening. They celebrated star employees from the year 2024. They also crowned the Star of the Year. Alma Cox won Driving Star of the Year.
Babar Kiyani secured the Support Star of the Year award. Jack Davidson earned the Engineering Star of the Year award. People recognized Babar for his growth. He showed dedication in Reading Buses’ control room for two years. He started as a driver and became a valuable asset.
Jack Davidson won his award through excellence. He showed a professional approach and positive attitude. Robert Williams said it was a close decision. Alma’s consistency and popularity made her the Star of the Year. She also won the award back in 2012.
Sharmila Perera became the Charity Champion. David Newell was awarded Community Hero. Steve Saunders became Customer Champion. Anne-Marie Elliot won the Unsung Hero award. James Roberts received the Rising Star award.
Amarjit Singh received a big applause. This celebrated his 50th year with Reading Buses. The charity raffle raised over £450. The money will go to Berkshire Youth. Robert Williams thanked the event’s sponsors.
