Smoky Sams Smokehouse opens a new location in Castletown, offering excellent food and a cozy atmosphere.

The staff seemed fine, even though it was their first night. They helped each other a lot and it felt good to watch. I almost smoked in the meat shed, that would have been bad!
I chose fire roasted prawns and some seasoned fries. I also got a couple of Norseman beers, and they tasted great with the food.
I thought the prawns might be small at first, but they were big when they came! The dish had sourdough bread with garlic butter, and I had no clue how to eat the prawns.
I asked Nicole, the co-owner, for help. She told me how to eat them the right way. The bread went well with the garlic butter and prawns. I could tell the prawns were very fresh and that they get the meat and fish from local places, a fact that I loved.
Jess Kneen said the food was amazing. She tried Smoky Sam’s at other spots before, and this location topped everything. It’s good for groups or date nights, she said, adding that her favorite was beef short rib. Peri peri chicken and jerk salmon were great too, and that she loved it all and will go back.
Smoky Sam’s was already in the south last year, working with Foraging Vintners and The Cosy Nook. Sam Levi and Nicole Crawley own Smoky Sam’s Smokehouse.
Their new smokehouse is in Castletown. It’s in the old Secret Pizza Company location. You can find it on Farrants Way.
They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays completely. Food is served from 12:30 to 2:30 and 5 to 9 PM, Wednesday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday food is served from 12 to 9 PM. Drinks are available whenever they are open.
