Award-winning fish and chip shop in Rhoose frequented by Welsh rugby players like Gavin Henderson!

New owners took over four years ago. Recently, it became a UK top 50 takeaway. Fry Magazine’s food critics gave them the title.
Jo Yilmaz works there. She says weather impacts business a lot. Good weather means 100-150 customers. Winter months see fewer people.
Fish and chips sell great, according to Jo. Chicken curries are also extremely popular, and even some famous people visit the shop.
Welsh rugby star Gavin Henderson has visited before. Jo described him as nice and quiet. Staff feel happy about the award.
Jo thinks winning felt like winning the lottery. She feels close to her work and the shop. I tried chips with Irish curry sauce.
The meal also included a Coke Zero. It cost £7.50 in total. The chips felt warm. Some crispy ones were mixed in too.
The potato and curry made great comfort food. The chips totally deserved their award. They tasted really good.
David Farnham currently owns the shop. He expanded it with mobile chip vans and took them to UK festivals.
Jo worked the chip van at UK events. She went to festivals in Brighton, Newcastle, and also Luton.
I visited late, but it was still busy. Locals and tourists wanted a quick bite. Overall, it seemed like a nice place.
