Richmond council approved removing the ATM from the closed Barclays branch during building renovations.

The council gave permission on February 24. They want to make it look like it did before Barclays. This means taking off signs and nameplates, and getting rid of the night safe and camera.
Inside, they’ll remove counters and furniture, but the building’s old features stay the same. Think brickwork and Welsh slate roofing; the project must start within three years.
They will need to follow the plans they submitted, including a heritage report and designs. They also need a statement about access, and photos from before the closure are important.
Before they fix the stone, they need approval, and must show how they’ll do the repairs. Samples of stone and repointing must be available so the street should still look good.
The changes won’t bother neighbors since they will not affect walkways or disabled access. Trash and air systems also stay the same.
Getting planning approval isn’t everything. They still need other permits, and they must tell English Heritage before demolition.
