Search continues for a person reported in the River Severn near Diglis, Worcester. Ongoing effort involves rescue teams and police.

Today, February 26, the search continued. West Mercia Search and Rescue led the effort, joined by police officers. K9 units also helped with the search, carefully checking the river.
Yesterday, responders were called at around 10 a.m. Air Ambulance arrived, along with police and firefighters. They searched for hours but found no one. A riverside section was closed but later reopened.
Jessica Edwards, who walked by the river today, felt sad about the incident. She didn’t expect the police to still be searching and hopes the person will be found safe. The river area is usually a nice place.
Police confirmed they are still searching. Search and Rescue posted on social media they’re looking for a missing person who is considered high risk.
Police said they continue to search the area near Diglis in Worcester and will update people when they can. An eyewitness reported that a man tried a rescue, using a rope and life ring to help.
Police conducted door-to-door questioning at homes near the water. The ambulance service received the call about someone in the water near Diglis House Hotel.
The ambulance service sent numerous teams, including two ambulances and two paramedic officers. The Hazardous Area Response Team arrived, and the Midlands Air Ambulance assisted. Fire services sent two engines and a boat crew, using a drone in the search as well.
