Major road faces five month closure for battery plant work. Expect delays, plan ahead, access maintained.

Traffic lights will be at Crandon Bridge on the A39. This may cause problems when traffic is heavy, so drivers should plan their routes in advance.
The Agratas project brings jobs to the local area and may create about 4,000 jobs. It will be located at the Gravity site.
Somerset Council says road work is required to make the project happen. Earlier work connected the site to the grid.
More work is coming after the March start to connect Gravity to utilities. Closures on Woolavington Road will happen in phases between Enterprise Way and Woolavington Village.
These closures start April 14 and could last a maximum of five months. Details about which parts close when will be shared later.
Somerset Council stated all residents can access their homes, and businesses on Woolavington Road will also have access during all road closures.
Contractors will try hard to finish work sooner and hope to complete it in under five months.
Traffic Management is working with contractors to coordinate work and reduce closures. This ensures access to the road.
Contractors return later for A39 Bath Road work and also work on Puriton Hill for power connections. This won’t be during the Woolavington Road closure.
The Agratas road work happens concurrently with other projects. Dunball roundabout is being improved too, which connects to Junction 23 on the M5.
The A39 link road will close in the evening sometimes between J23 and Dunball. The M5 junction will stay open, and a detour route will be available for drivers.
Closures are from 7:30 PM to 5:00 AM. The first period is from April 3 to April 7 inclusive, and the second period is from May 12 to May 21.
