Expect delays near Barnet! Six road closures on the A1 and M1 are scheduled this February for roadwork.

One closure started February 16th and lasts until February 17th at 5am. This A1 closure may cause moderate delays, so plan for 10 to 30 extra minutes. It affects northbound traffic from junctions 1 to 3.
The A1 northbound, Rowley Lane to Bignells Corner, is also impacted. Use the National Highways Network for detours.
Here are five more upcoming closures. A1 southbound from Bignells Corner to Rowley Lane closes February 17th and reopens February 22nd at 6am. Expect slight delays, under 10 minutes, due to monitoring equipment.
M1 southbound, junction 2 to London Gateway, closes February 19th and reopens February 21st at 5:30am. Expect slight delays there as well for CCTV surveys.
A1 southbound again closes February 24th, from Bignells Corner to Rowley Lane. It reopens March 1st at 6am. Expect slight delays because they’re installing monitoring equipment.
M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 1, closes February 24th and reopens February 27th at 5am. This causes moderate delays, 10-30 minutes. Detours will use National Highways roads.
The last closure is M1 northbound, junction 1 to 2. It starts February 28th and ends March 20th, causing slight delays under ten minutes. This is for boundary fencing work.
