The site needed planning approval. Bradford Council said no to nine apartments. The design didn’t fit the area. That plan was rejected back in 2022.
The developers tried again in December 2022. They lowered the count to six apartments. Locals still were not very happy. They voiced their objections clearly.
The project got approved last August. Council staff said the old house was plain and wasn’t historically important. This helped with the new approval.
Staff thought good design fits conservation areas. Middleton has always built homes reflecting current styles. New construction followed this old trend.
The developers, Bankhead Group, spoke about the project. They said the apartments suit Ilkley residents who want to downsize their living space.
Hunters believes construction wraps up soon, around May or June. They called it a rare chance for great apartments in central Middleton.
These seven apartments have spacious, modern layouts with two or three bedrooms in each unit. They are truly designed for luxury living.
The apartments feature beautiful interiors and high-end touches. A balcony faces south for each one, linking inside to outdoor spaces and making a relaxing retreat.
