Over 1,000 sign up for Rowcroft Hospice’s Big Tackle on March 15th. Walk supports end-of-life care in South Devon.
Alexia Croft said it would be their best Big Tackle. They expect even more people to join in, creating an exciting atmosphere. The community will come together to support a worthy cause, celebrating with a pint and pasty at the end.
The Big Tackle will raise money for Rowcroft. The hospice provides care for people with life-limiting illnesses and helps their families across South Devon.
Participants will walk eight miles, starting at Torquay Rugby Club. The walk goes through Torbay’s scenic areas before returning for festivities. They will get a pint and a pasty and watch England vs. Wales play rugby.
Croft says the Tackle is about “tough times together.” Each step and pound helps local families by providing comfort and special support. Some walk to honor deceased loved ones while supporting the hospice services.
The prior event raised £90,000 for the hospice, which is over 3,300 hours of expert care. This year, they want to raise even more to improve hospice care services.
WBW Solicitors and others support the Big Tackle. People eight and older can join. Tickets cost £28 for adults and £20 for children. After March 9th, prices increase to £60 for adults and £30 for children on the day.
