William and Kate meet with flood victims in South Wales, offering support after devastating storms impacted the region.

The visit was before St David’s Day on March 1st. They shared a video from Cardiff rail station. Lots of people looked surprised to see them. Then they went to Pontypridd Market. At the market, they baked Welsh cakes.
Next, both met locals hit by the flooding. Storm Bert and Storm Darragh caused the damage. Kate and William talked to business owners. Flooding really affected the area. They also sat in the market’s Fountain Cafe.
They planned to visit Meadow Street Community Garden. It began in January 2021. It’s supposed to be welcoming. Flooding damaged it badly. Now locals can garden and weave. Kate wore a daffodil for St David’s Day.
This trip was Kate’s second to South Wales recently. She went to Tŷ Hafan hospice in January. This happened after preventative chemotherapy. She made a statement about her cancer.
Kate talked about it while visiting the Royal Marsden. This London hospital helped her last year. She announced she co-patrons the hospital with William. They are supporting cancer research. She feels relieved to be in remission now. She is focused on her recovery.
