The building at 29 Brown Street now has black paint. It used to be green when Rude Giant was there.

Rude Giant closed the beer house in December. They wanted to focus on The Royal Oak. Their business also includes selling to companies.

Ethan Davids said Salisbury is a tough market. He felt Rude Giant was wrong for the beer house.

The Chapel’s spokesperson painted the walls. He said the venue came back to them. They plan to open it by summer. He couldn’t share more details then.

Epic Bars and Clubs owns The Chapel Nightclub since May 2022. They are a national company.

Council papers explain the beer house’s layout. It connects to The Chapel and Vestry Bar. This connection occurs via a large extension. It goes over a courtyard.

Rude Giant said the city’s trading was hard. They closed December 28. The Alzheimer’s Society once had a building there.

Amanda Newbery and her brother Jonty owned The Chapel before. In 2021, they bought the site. They demolished the charity building to build a music venue.

It was originally called Brown Street. Rude Giant took it over in October 2023.
