The vineyard in Ketton secured permission for a dog exercise area on agricultural land, enhancing their offerings.

Zoe and Tim Beaver own Rutland Vineyard. They will fence off this field for the dogs, and they’re adding more parking spaces, too. A wooden shelter offers dog owners comfort.
Tim said customers bring their dogs already. He thinks a leash-free dog area is a good idea, adding that the area isn’t good for growing grapes anyway because the soil has heavy clay.
They will plant wild grasses and trees in the area. This will boost biodiversity. Tim stated they appreciate the local support, noting that the park helps the vineyard stay open year-round and that dog park revenue helps during slower months.
The dog park should open this summer. It would be open from 10 AM to 4 PM daily, and people can book slots lasting thirty minutes. Vineyard restrooms will be open to dog park users.
Tim is excited to build on their business. The vineyard won awards for their wine in 2024, and starting 2025 with this project is great.
