Salford’s new youth zone opens in July, designed with teenage input for a secure space and better life chances.

The youth zone will operate all year. It will welcome 150 kids daily and create 70 jobs. The hub is designed partly by local teens.
Rose helped create the building, stating that it offers a safe haven. She shared the build on social media, emphasizing that it gives youth a secure place where they can always talk to someone.
Empower Youth Zones is developing the center, which also runs HideOut Youth Zone. The new site is 4,500 sq ft. and will be located in Pendleton.
Kids can enjoy a climbing wall. A sports hall will offer games, and there will also be a boxing ring. A music room is planned too, along with a kitchen where they can learn to cook.
Adam Farricker leads Empower Youth Zones. He said teens will have a safe space where they will find positive activities, and he anticipates their excitement.
The youth zone is more than recreation. It aims to improve life chances, welcoming ages eight to nineteen, with those with added needs up to age 25.
