Salisbury Democracy Alliance introduces People’s Assembly for better local decisions; meetings scheduled for community input.

Three meetings will happen soon. They will create a Community Charter that will go to Salisbury City Council, and Wiltshire Council.
Proposals will move to a national event, the National People’s Assembly, which meets in July. Independent MPs will be there.
The first local meeting is March 1 at the Quaker Meeting House on Wilton Road, from 2 PM to 4:15 PM. Another meeting happens April 13 at St Gregory’s Hall. The third meeting is June 1 at Salisbury FC.
The time is 2 PM to 4:15 PM for both the April and June meetings. A national group, Assemble, supports these meetings.
Mark Potts chairs the democracy group. He notes many people want change, because people struggle while businesses profit. River pollution and flooding also cause concern among residents.
The assemblies let people speak freely, with views independent of politics. Meetings are free, but booking is needed. Email Mark at mapotts53@gmail.com to book a spot.
