Some pubs closed down recently. Many became houses or shops. Others reopened with new owners. Here’s a list of closed pubs in Salisbury.

Caboose, a Salisbury cocktail bar, shut June 1, 2024. It was a hotel and bar. The owners sold it in July 2024. Caboose Parlour was a 1920s-style bar near the Salisbury train station. They served many drinks there.

Hampton Inn on Pearce Way closed suddenly July 8, 2024. It gave no warning at all. Doors and windows were shut, and nobody worked inside. It was a Whitbread “Table Table” pub and sat near a Premier Inn.

Rude Giant Beer House closed after December 28, 2024. The brewery wanted to focus on selling beer and supporting their pub in Great Wishford. The Chapel Nightclub took it over Feb 14, 2025, and it might reopen this summer.

Salisbury Cycling & Social Club closed August 31, 2024. Membership dropped a lot, and Covid also hurt the business. The club started in June 1885 for gentlemen who liked cycling.

The Bell Inn near Stonehenge closed November 2, 2024. They announced the closure on Facebook. Built in 1850 and later expanded, a local person bought it and renamed it in 2018. It reopened as a free house in 2013.

The Old Mill Hotel in Harnham closed Jan 31, 2025. The owners posted they were selling it after owning it for two and a half years. It had a bar, restaurant, hotel, and pub garden. Part of it was from the 12th century and served as a mill until 1931. New owners will hopefully make it thrive.
