Salisbury parish voters cast 4,600 ballots. Turnout reached 14.5 percent of eligible voters. The vote concerned the Salisbury plan’s use.

The question asked about Wiltshire Council’s planning decisions. Should they use the Salisbury plan? It impacts the neighborhood area. “Yes” votes totaled 3,940. “No” votes numbered 647.

Thirteen ballots were rejected. The rejections were due to uncertainty.

Plan authors believe it empowers locals. They get more say on planning. Salisbury gains more funding from developers. This is the Community Infrastructure Levy.

The polls closed at 10 p.m. Officials announced the result by midnight that night.
