Explorer Scouts compete in air rifle target shooting, showcasing precision and self-discipline on February 1st.

These Explorers are 14 to 18 years old. They used .177 calibre air rifles and shot from sitting and standing positions, six yards away. Each person took practice and scoring shots.
The competition had different categories. Individual awards were given for overall, sitting, and standing positions, while teams competed in the overall category.
The Peregrine Falcons from Bulford won with 788 points. Laverstock Larks got second place, scoring 785, and Amesbury came in third with 774.
Jacob Carter from Amesbury did really well. He earned 190 points, achieving best overall, best sitting, and best standing.
Mark Warner, who leads the PR and media team, shared that target shooting teaches self-discipline and helps with precision. He added that it’s even an Olympic sport.
