Local animal rescue needs a new fundraising venue after Sandbach Town Hall cancels bookings due to staffing shortages.
Samantha Moss leads the charity’s trustees. They usually hold events at Sandbach town hall. The council emailed, canceling three bookings. Staffing issues caused this problem.
Samantha said cancellations are awful for them. They rely on donations to operate. Over thirty cats need their care right now. Vet bills are high for some sick kittens. Coffee morning funds are very important. Finding another space proves difficult too.
She just got a call about three kittens. They were twelve weeks old and at risk. The rescue is full, so she took them home. She is trying ensure their safety for now.
They are raising money to expand the sanctuary. Normal expenses are already a lot. Coffee mornings raise about one thousand pounds. This money is super vital to the cats.
Sandbach Town Council apologized to the rescue. They can’t use the ballroom for coffee mornings now. Staff shortages are really bad at this moment. They can only handle wedding bookings for now.
The council hopes to fix this fast. The group might return before May, hopefully. They might use the boardroom if it is free. It is a smaller room without a kitchen. It could still let them raise some funds.
