Residents oppose a new traveler site in Saundersfoot, fearing further development and environmental damage.

Dai Evans wants to build a traveler site that includes a caravan and a utility room. He submitted application NP/24/0638/FUL to PCNPA, with Hayston Developments as his agents.
Mr. Evans is Romany Gypsy; his family lived in caravans for generations. He currently lives on an overcrowded site.
His family used the site in summers, staying in a touring caravan back then. He bought the land in October 2023 and wants to continue his culture there.
Neighbors call the application misleading because it shows only a small part of the land. They think he plans to develop the rest of the land, as well.
He wants one mobile home, a day room, and touring pitch. Neighbors think officials see an incomplete picture and that more could be built later.
Neighbors said that the applicant removed trees and hedgerows, destroying woodland wildlife habitat. This exposed gardens on Incline Way, and people needed to build fences.
The whole site could hold more homes, they said, and it looks like he plans to add more. He cleared the land for multiple homes and also added fences, gates, and water.
The objectors claim he damaged the park, making it seem like open land. They feel the land never appeared open.
More caravans could change the park area. They noted the county already has other sites, and the PCNPA will review the application later.
