A six-year-old girl was laid to rest in Scotland, with mourners lining the streets to pay their respects.

Hope’s funeral was a private family service at the Co-op Funeralcare in Livingston. Her family called it “Hope’s Day.” The funeral procession went to Adambrae Cemetery, and her coffin was Paw Patrol themed.
A horse-drawn glass carriage carried the coffin. A piper led the procession on its route while the horses wore blue and yellow plumes. A person dressed as Chase from Paw Patrol walked behind the carriage, and many cars filled with mourners followed. They wore bright clothes to honor Hope.
About one hundred people stood near the cemetery, watching the cortege while paying their respects. Some people cried as it passed, and one woman tossed flowers onto the carriage. A hearse with many flowers also followed.
Toronto Primary School sent flowers with a card that said they will forever remember Hope. It mentioned her joy, happiness, and love. Another card simply said, “For beautiful precious sweet little Hope, everyone loves you.”
A family friend, Melanie Wheeldon, started a fundraiser to help Hope’s family. The GoFundMe page quickly raised over £10,000, surpassing the initial goal of £2,000. The fundraiser mourned the tragic murder of Hope.
Melanie emphasized Hope’s infectious smile and kind spirit. She noted Hope’s love for animals, and the fundraiser helped with funeral expenses. It honored Hope’s memory during a very difficult time for her loved ones.
Hope’s headteacher, Fiona Linfoot, spoke, mentioning Hope’s infectious smile and kind heart. Hope was a valued student at Toronto Primary, and the staff and her friends miss her dearly. She brought joy to everyone.
Detectives are investigating Hope’s death, stating that the police had prior contact with the family. Staff became worried when Hope did not arrive at school, prompting a relative to visit Mark’s house. When no one answered, they called for help.
Police and firefighters entered the home and found Hope and Mark dead inside. Police launched a large investigation of the area. A police chief said the event was isolated, adding that the public had no wider risk.
