The Scottish Borders Council bought a JCB Pothole Pro three years ago. Roads were in bad shape, causing worry. The machine costs about £165,000. You can also rent it for around £600 each month.

The Pothole Pro helps fix roads and keeps them safer for everyone. This machine combines three machines into one unit. It fixes one pothole in under eight minutes, which is four times faster than normal, and it costs half as much!

Last year, they hired a second Pothole Pro and put both machines to work. The council will hear about its use at a meeting. The machine did 1889 repairs from April to December.

The Pothole Pro is an alternative to old repair methods. It patched roads from Peebles to Leadburn, from Boundary to Galashiels, and from Duns to Grantshouse.

The Pothole Pro is now working in towns and villages during winter. They finished St Johns Street in Galashiels, as well as Scott’s Place and Shawburn Drive in Selkirk. More sites are planned if weather allows.

The total number of repairs has reached 1889, equaling 14,479 square meters of asphalt used. The council repaired roads quickly with this new technology. The Pothole Pro makes repairs lasting, makes work more efficient, and improves the driving experience. Also, they can use fewer vehicles.
