Scouts conquer the Southern 50, a tough hike through Oxfordshire, celebrating teamwork and orienteering.

Dwayne Fields is the Chief Scout. He stated that teams showed great resolve. He enjoyed meeting them at the end and liked hearing about their challenges. He learned about the skills they gained.
The event tests orienteering skills. Young people and volunteers were excellent and showed what is great about Scouts. They teamed up, had fun, and learned.
This year was the event’s 45th anniversary. People hiked through four counties: Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Oxfordshire.
The Southern 50 is a long event that tests teamwork and orienteering abilities. The route remains secret until the day, ensuring a fair competition for the trophy.
Gabriella participated in the event. She said it was a serious test, but her team got through it together. Scout skills aided them through mud and rain, and they managed to reach the finish line.
Alan supports Scouts. He says Scouts teaches members to keep calm, think fast, and face their fears. Alan believes young people don’t quit in Scouts; they gain friends and try again with support.
