Ardrossan’s Seahorse Bookstore is a finalist for a national award! The shop opened in 2021 has quickly become a local hub.

Seahorse opened back in 2021 in the town’s Winton Buildings. Quickly, it became a community hub. The shop runs book clubs and writer’s groups for locals.
Owners Gordon and Molly Murray do more. They organize readings often and host visiting authors. Now, they have a chance at a national award. This is exciting news for them.
The shops compete to win their regions first. Then, they compete for the overall prize. The British Book Awards ceremony returns soon in central London on May 12.
The Independent Bookshop winner could win again and become Book Retailer of the Year. Molly is a published author already. Gordon used to be a pastor in the USA.
Gordon spoke at the 2021 opening, telling the Herald their mission. They want to connect the Three Towns and be part of the towns.
Their aim is to revive imagination through books and discussion. They seem to have done just that. Customers hope they win at the award ceremony.
