Thirteen sheep dead, eight injured after a dog attack near Hope, Flintshire. Police are investigating the incident.

Sadly, the dogs killed thirteen sheep, and eight more suffered injuries. The sheep’s owners, Matty Astbury and Elizabeth Jones, feel awful about what happened, especially as some sheep were pregnant and due soon.
The owners describe a very upsetting scene where two dogs attacked their sheep, likely starting early in the morning, before leaving the area around 7:10 AM.
Twenty-one sheep lived in that field. Eight sheep were already dead when the owners arrived, and the vet decided to euthanize five more. The remaining eight sheep all have injuries and need ongoing treatment, with some having been raised by hand.
