Captain to appear in Hull court after North Sea collision. He is charged with gross negligence manslaughter

Police investigated a North Sea ship crash off East Yorkshire’s coast. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency helped, and a man now faces charges because of it.
The collision involved a tanker and freighter. The incident occurred on March 11th.
Vladimir Motin, the 59-year-old Russian captain of the Solong, faces gross negligence manslaughter charges. He is in police custody awaiting his court date, which is tomorrow, March 15th.
Humberside Police received a call on March 10th around 11 am about a ships’ collision. One crew member was missing at that time.
The HM Coastguard searched extensively but unfortunately presumed the crewman dead. Officers are supporting the family, and officials are thinking of them.
