Shipley community mourns Natasha Wright, 36, and raises funds for a memorial bench and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Rio Beaumont said they lost Natasha suddenly on March 16, 2024. Natasha was a beloved sister, daughter, and aunt. She was also a respected granddaughter, niece, and friend. The community knew Natasha, or “Tasha.”
She was recognized for her kind heart and spent a lot of time at the Travellers Rest in Shipley. Her friends meant everything to her. She was close to Shelley, the landlady.
Friends raised money for funeral costs and supported the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Shelley wanted to help this charity because it tried to save Natasha. Sadly, they could not save her life.
The Travellers Rest community raised £3,000 through donations, raffles, and a walk last summer. Friends also raised over £2,000 for her funeral and gave something to her niece and nephew too.
Rio stated that Natasha loved the children dearly, adding that they were her whole world. The Travellers Rest raised enough to buy a memorial bench and placed a plaque outside the pub.
Rio said her family is thankful for the community’s generosity. On February 15, family and friends gathered. They celebrated everyone’s fundraising efforts with Shelley and Neil Wooley.
Rio said it was a lovely day despite the sad situation and that it was nice to honor “Our Tasha”, as they called her at the pub. Her sister stated Tasha’s memory would last forever.
She had a good heart and helped anyone, Rio said. It’s wonderful the community came together to remember her, and they did the same for her as she had done for others.
