Couple appeals council order to remove shipping containers near Holt. They cite storage needs, visual impact, and security concerns.

Last October, the council sent them the order. The council thinks the containers changed land use, and the Christophis lack permission for this change. The council dislikes how the containers look too, believing the containers harm the area’s beauty.
The Christophis disagree with the council. They use the containers for storage and say the area hides the containers well. The containers don’t hurt the rural view, and they also don’t affect the Glaven Valley area.
The couple offered a landscaping plan to further hide the containers. They need the storage for security, as their rural spot is prone to break-ins. They store valuables and tools there.
The council confirmed the appeal. An inspector will review the case next, but the inspector’s decision could take time. It will likely happen after April 2025. Documents will be on the council website.
