Nathan and Emily Roberts want to change land use. The land is at Sodyllt Bank, near Ellesmere. They submitted the application earlier this month.

They want to move a stable and also want a utility block. A static caravan and three parking spots are planned. Andrew Gough is their agent at Woodsyde Developments Ltd. He said the family lives in St Martins now and Mr. Roberts needs to move to Sodyllt as he keeps his tree surgery tools there.

Sadly, people often steal his equipment. Mr. Roberts, his wife, and daughter live with relatives near St Martins, about a mile away. Both families have deep roots in St Martins.

Mr. Roberts owns his tree surgery business which serves the local area. His tools are in the stable on the land. He cannot live there, so theft is a problem.

He wants to live on the site to better protect his tools, which he needs for his job. His family also wants to become self-sufficient and leave his parents’ home.

Mr. Gough mentioned housing availability, stating that finding suitable homes is quite difficult. The location suits them because the family is near relatives and clients, and Mr. Roberts already has a work network there. The site’s size seems appropriate for their needs. Shropshire Council will decide by March 24.
