Shropshire Council scraps booking system for cars at recycling centers after resident outcry. Vans and trailers still need bookings.

Good news, though! Now cars won’t need bookings anymore, but vans and trailers still will. This change might start very soon, like next Monday.
Ian Nellins says they heard residents’ complaints and knows some folks found booking inconvenient. The council wants to make things easier, but booking helps keep out commercial waste from vans and helps residents needing recycling services.
Alex Wagner started a petition against the system which got 1,000 signatures fast! Almost 6,000 people signed it overall, that’s impressive.
Wagner is really happy about the change and thinks it proves residents can make a difference. He always felt the system was a bad idea because it made access harder and added costs, and they were trying to fix nothing.
Fly-tipping went up by 20%, and residents want action on this problem. They want a council that actually helps and Wagner thanks those 6,000 residents who supported him.
