Brother and sister, Roman and Darcie Casselden, died after a car struck their e-scooter in Pitsea, Essex. Investigations are ongoing.

Michelle Brown said they were on an e-scooter that collided with a car on Ashlyns, heading east near Stokefelde. Emergency services arrived at the scene quickly. Sadly, Darcie died at 7:10 PM and Roman died at 7:50 PM.
The coroner stated their cause of death clearly as traumatic head injuries. Further investigation is needed, and their mother formally identified them both. Police arrested the car’s driver for several offenses.
Police asked for the inquest to be paused, as they need time for their investigation and a possible prosecution might occur. The coroner suspended both inquests in Chelmsford and will review everything in four months. Ms. Brown expressed her sympathy.
She noted the tragic details of the siblings’ young lives. Their mother, Emma, shared a statement, saying their love lives on in the hearts of those who knew them.
Police made arrests related to the crash; they bailed a woman and a man was released for investigation. These investigations are ongoing and active.
