A large solar farm producing 39.3MW is proposed near Brompton-on-Swale. It includes panels, substations, and security measures.

The plan features solar panels on frames and also needs three substations. Nine power stations will be included, and over 100 CCTV cameras on poles are expected. Underground cables and roads are required, and a fence will surround the site, standing 2.4 meters tall.
The developers say the farm will last 40 years. Afterward, the land will become farmland again, and they think the soil will be better then.
The application is with North Yorkshire Council now. The plans also contain supporting documents.
Solar panels will line up in rows, and other equipment is needed for the farm. The design uses the place efficiently and avoids site problems when possible.
It keeps existing plants and vegetation and buffers, and it also respects nearby homes. The panels will have special anti-glare coating that cuts down on reflected light.
The builders want to use lower-quality farmland. The company talked to the community about the plans and let people review the details and give opinions.
They say many people responded to the proposal, and they considered the responses. They changed the plan whenever they could.
The council has not commented yet. Harmony Energy runs Brompton Solar.
They planned a solar farm in Skeeby and sold it for approximately £38 million to a green energy firm. The new solar farm is near the Skeeby farm now.
